A NEW DIMENSION IN DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

SINGLE CAMERA METHOD

This method requires minimum to no investment at all. All you’ll need is a digital camera. The idea here is to take every picture twice. One shot to represent the left eye and the 2nd shot to represent the right eye. Later on, the two can be combined to create a 3D image,
This method is a little bit more challenging and requires the following:

  • Camera setting - Both images should be taken with the exact same camera setting (exposure, speed, zoom, focus). Otherwise, it will be hard to combine both images to a 3D image. The best way to achieve that is to set the camera to a manual mode and take both pictures with the same setting. Tip: If you don’t know what should be the appropriate setup for a given image, you can take a single image in auto mode (so that the camera calculates the setting for you), then check the setting that the camera was using for that image and manually set the camera to use those.
  • Parallel position – The 2nd shot should be taken from a parallel horizontal position, maintaining the same* angel toward to object.  The horizontal distance between the 1stposition to the 2ndshould be about 2.5 inch (roughly 6.5 centimeters). This distance represents the distance between your left and right eye. Obviously the eye distance differs from one person to another but make sure the difference is in that range.
